Moonlight Paddle Half Day+ Tour (Levels I-II)

Totally Different Experience Paddling at Night

Wildlife Experiences You Don't Get in Daylight

Great Views of the Stars on Clear Nights

Night paddling offers its own special magic. Timed during a waxing moon when the tides are most favorable, we will take you from our shop up Steamboat Slough, where the distractions of lights and traffic are minimal and we can appreciate the sounds and sights of the wildlife refuge by moonlight - a beaver circling the the kayaks and slapping its tail before plunging under the water, a chorus of coyotes, schools of small fish rising all around, or the hoot of a great horned owl. Waters typically turn glassy in the evening, making it a relaxing evening as well. Depending on weather and interest, we may extend the paddle beyond Steamboat into the main river or the White-tail Slough before returning back to our dock. Please bring a flashlight or headlamp; glow sticks will be provided.
